Celebrate With Us in 2008!
Green Valley Youth Choir
In July of 2008, First Church of Winsted will host the Green Valley Youth Choir from
Sydney, Australia, as part of their 40th Anniversary World Tour.
The tour duration will be 6 weeks; from June 17th till July 29th 2008. The choir will
visiting the following cities and countries.
Asia - Hong Kong
Europe - London, Helsinki, Amsterdam, Den Haag, Paris, Salzburg, Vienna,
Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Gdansk, Suwalki, Warsaw
USA - Winsted CT, Virginia Beach VG, Madison AL, Riverside CA, Disneyland CA ,
Oakhurst CA, Yosemite CA, San Francisco CA.
The choir will arrive in Winsted the evening of July 6th, via Kelly Bus from JFK
arriving from Warsaw, Poland, via Helsinki.
On July 7th, they will be treated to a picnic at Burr Pond, and after a brief return to
the host families, they will come to the church for a pot-luck dinner and a
performance at 7:00 PM, followed by a post-concert reception.
Special guest artist will be "Helen Mottee" Australian Singer / Songwrier of the year
2001who has written many of the Choir's songs and will perfrom in her own right on
this very special evening.
July 8th & 9th The choir will sighsee local area's and depart for their next concert
destination Virginia Beach on July 10th.
We are still in need of folk to help house our Australian guests for the 4 nights they
will be with us, so please let us know if you can help.
The Green Valley Youth Choir has graciously invited Laurel City Singers to join
them and Helen Mottee on
the final piece in their program, entitled "Our Song," written by Helen, joining our
nations in song!
