Day 3

Indoor Tasks, a new Manager, and Painting.

Everyone was up early, and we had a breakfast of French Toast and sausage before leaving at 8am for the Solyluna facilities. We arrived just after 8:30 and it started raining just as we arrived. So, we focused on indoor tasks.

Rain worked with Marian (the Director of the school) on developing a new organizational structure for the cloud-based files of the school. Marian is on the left, Rain on the right.

Everyone else broke up into teams to paint various rooms in the building. Here’s a before photo of one of the classrooms.

Here’s what it looked like at the end of the day.

Because the entryway to the school building is covered, we were able to paint it. Here’s how it looked when we arrived.

And at the end of the day…

Unlike prior Mission Trips, I worked on the front line...

While our new, much more effective manager supervised our efforts.

To not overly disrupt the daily operations of the school, we worked until after 6pm to get as much of the indoor painting completed as possible.

Tannia painting in the office…

Debby, Cat and Frankie work on painting a classroom.

Frank, Frankie and Cat working in the office.

Bob laying down on the job (and soon to be walked all by the Manager).

We plan on arriving at the school at 8:30 Tuesday morning to begin painting the outside of the building.
